Strong Action Verbs You Can Use on Your Resume to Catch a Recruiter’s Attention

What you will find in this blog:

Do you ever feel like you use the same words over and over again to start your bullet points? Writing your resume is an important task, and if you are phoning in your verb usage, it is going to show.

A resume with a variety of strong action words is how you are going to attract a recruiter’s attention. It can be hard, though, to come up with the right words to describe your skills and show your value.

You are not alone. Many of my clients have come to me with “led,” “managed,” “helped,” or “responsible for” on almost all of their bullet points.

These are not going to catch the attention of a recruiter. Those commonly used bullet starters also do not truly indicate the power of your work. Want more impact? Here are some of my favorite verbs that show you are an employee of action and value.
